Never, never, never, never give up.
~ Winston Churchill
hCG has been used since the 1950s for weight loss when an endocrinologist (Albert T.W. Simeons) came up with the idea somehow that it was effective when used as a weight loss aid in combination with a low calorie diet.
Albert Simeons seemed to think that helping “fat boys” in India who had a viable pituatiry gland problem could lose weight while taking hCG and a low calorie diet. He then went on to write a book called Pounds and Inches to help combat obesity.
Perhaps he was well meaning and trying to be altruistic. And maybe there is a case for hCG in clinical situations where folks have a legitimate metabolic or hormone producing problem.
But I can promise you, if you have fallen for the claims by the hCG snake oil salesmen then you are going to have a hard time trying to figure out how to keep the weight off after hCG.
Albert Simeons recommended 125IU of hCG with this low calorie diet plan. It is the low calorie diet plan that is causing folks to lose weight. And it’s not healthy. 500 calories a day! Really… come on, think about it.
Most of you who think you are on the hCG diet aren’t really on the hCG diet. Remember before, I said that Simeon recommended 125 IU of hCG? Well, that’s 125 IU of hCG injected instramuscularly. Most of you are taking homeopathic hCG and that isn’t doing anything for you at all. hCG is a scam people. It is not a weight loss cure or magical pill. And homeopathy is useless if not downright witchcraft.
What is hCG? hCG is a human hormone, that’s what the h stands for. Human chorionic gonadotropin. It is made by pregnant women. So if you’re cool on drinking pregnant women’s pee then… bottoms up!
Not really, this stuff isn’t good for and although the FDA, that lumbering, slow apparent advocate for our healthy and safety – in bed with pharmaceutical companies more often than not – even they find that hCG for weight loss and hCG homeopathic weight loss supplements are fraudulent and illegal.
What’s making you lose weight is the extremely low amount calories in your hCG diet. The best science would suggest that we should eat at least 10x our desired bodyweight in pounds in calories per day. So if your desired weight is 120 pounds you should eat 1200 calories at a minimum. Probably around 12x to 15x for weight maintenance.
What’s also damning about the hCG diet is the focus on high protein and low carbohydrates. High meat diets which seem to be the current rage like the paleo and Atkins and others are very bad for you and make you fat.
Anyway, you’ve done your hCG weight loss diet and now I hope that you’ve learned your lesson. But now you want to know how to keep weight off after hCG silliness. This is how.
As I mentioned earlier. Eat at least 10x your weight in pounds in calories per day. Eat a plant based diet as it helps keep you slimmer and get exercise at least 5 times a week.
Your weight loss might slow to a more modest but healthy 2 to 3 pounds per week depending on how much weight you need to lose. Eating a 500 calorie hCG diet is obscenely low and might have put your body in starvation mode.
So you’re gonna need to eat 2.5 to 3 times what you are used to be eating. This is good news. Try though, to stop yourself from binging. This can be a really big problem with folks coming off such a low calorie starvation diet. Also remember to eat wholesome foods. You know what that is, stir fried veggies and rice, salads, beans and whole grains. Limit or eliminate meat and dairy products as well as eggs.
Stop being unkind to yourself. Eat well and enjoy your food. If you take the time to eat sensibly and to eat a natural vegan diet instead of spending hard earned money on idiotic potions and lotions like hCG drop or injections, the weight will come off.
Make a lifestyle change not just a weight loss change. Give yourself several months. Remember you got fat over time so let yourself get lean over time too.
